more infoGregory A. Guzmán, Ph.D. Dr. Gregory A. Guzmán is a Theta Chi graduating from Bowling Green State University with his Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 and his Masters from BGSU in 1995. He later went on to complete his Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in 2014. His dissertation research focused on collegiate enrollment management as relates to time theory and economics.
A Toledo native, Dr. Guzman is the only Latino to have ever served as a
University President in Northwest Ohio. ImpreMedia, the nation’s leading
Hispanic News Company, named Dr. Guzmán as one of Ohio’s Top Five
Hispanics to Follow.
Dr. Guzmán began his career as an intern for U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur
in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. His first job was as a financial aid advisor and veterans certifying official at Owens Community College. He later went on to become the Director of Student Financial Aid at Tiffin University, Lourdes University, and his alma mater, Bowling Green State University where he also served as the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management.
He has been profiled by the University of Southern California’s Center for
Enrollment Research, Policy, and Practice for work done related to enrollment
management and the federal aid process.
Today, Dr. Guzmán serves as the Executive Director of Central City Ministry for
the Diocese of Toledo. In this role, Dr. Guzmán oversees the advancement of
Toledo’s oldest inner-city K-8 Catholic institutions.
